First Steps

Today was your vaccine day. It was your last shot for the pneumococcal series. You were very cooperative, crying only a little as the liquid was slowly pushed into your thigh. As soon as I carried and hugged you, the tears were gone. Afterwards, we went to a baby store to look for a walker. For the past few days, you've diligently pulled yourself upward on any support you can find, be it Daddy's shirt, your crib, the bed's footboard, an armerest. Or you'd push yourself away from the one carrying you. Para bang gusto mo nang maglakad. Unfortunately, when we went inside the store, there was only one kind of walker for a baby boy. Nakakainis nga, kasi there were 4 choices for the girls. Wala naman kaming magawa, kaya pinasubukan na lang namin sayo. At first, you were so engrossed with the toys attached in front of the walker. The Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls squeaked. And there was a button that plays some tunes when you push it. After several minutes, you were going forward then backward. You weren't exactly walking. It was more of a push so the walker would roll forward or backward. With you having fun, we decided to buy it.

Waiting for Daddy to finish assembling your walker.

You were very impatient to play with your new toy.

Oops, mali ang inupuan mo.

You were engrossed with the musical toys, at first.

You were smiling happily once you realized you were free to walk around.

Here, you were shrieking with excitement.

Love,
